Acceptable use

The few things that get a key suspended.

Short, because there are only a few things that get a key suspended, and none of them will surprise you.

Work around a rate limit Multiple accounts, rotating keys, or hammering a 429 rather than waiting for the Retry-After we send. Ask for a higher limit instead; it is usually yes.

Republish it as a feed Building on the data is fine and encouraged. Becoming a mirror somebody uses instead of a key here is not.

Share one account across businesses Keys are free and unlimited within an account. Sharing an account to avoid paying twice is the thing this means.

Present it as advice This is raw data. Selling it on as tips or predictions, implying we endorse them, is not something we will host.

Attack the service Scanning, probing for holes, or trying to reach another account's data. Tell us what you found instead and we will thank you for it.

What happens

We email you first and ask, unless the service is actually being harmed, in which case the key stops and then we email you. There is no strike system and no automatic ban: a person looks.

If a key is suspended and you think it is wrong, say so at support and it gets looked at by the same person. Suspension for one of these reasons is not refunded; see refunds.

Found a security problem?

Tell us at support before telling anybody else, and give us a reasonable window to fix it. We will not threaten you for reporting something in good faith, we will credit you if you want the credit, and we will say publicly what was wrong once it is fixed.
